TIRAK by the BUFFALO BROTHERS

In Tirak, I got to poke fun at the strange dance between some Thai women and foreign men in Thailand. As one of the Buffalo Brothers, we used the crazy energy of Commedia dell'Arte to bring this to life.

We seamlessly transitioned between male and female characters, delving into the perspectives of these foreign men. The highlight was portraying the women – exaggerated, larger-than-life versions of how these men might perceive their girlfriends. We embodied both victim and antagonist, revealing an initial naiveté transforming into the outlandish, ambitious figures likely residing only within their imaginations.

Tirak marked my first foray into such an absurd style of comedy. It was a demanding yet exhilarating and rewarding experience. This performance pushed my boundaries as a performer, allowing me to explore new depths of expressiveness and physicality.
