I’m Matas Danielius. I’m a theatre and film actor.
I was born in Lithuania during the Soviet occupation, and my desire for freedom and self-expression has been a driving force in my life. This led me to acting, which has also served as a form of therapy.
While pursuing my Drama degree at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, I discovered the work of Antonin Artaud, Jerzy Grotowski, Tatsumi Hijikata, Yoshi Oida, and Michael Chekhov. Their philosophies greatly influenced my performance style and shaped my creative personality.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a range of groundbreaking projects as both an actor and a producer (Useful Idiots). My recent roles include performing on stage with Grammy Award-winning jazz singer Keithen Carter, appearing in a feature film alongside William Baldwin, and playing a character role with Thai actor Jayler R on Netflix’s series Analog Squad.
In addition to acting, I’ve developed a deep passion for entrepreneurship. I’ve learned that creativity and innovation are inseparable, and the best ideas often emerge when blending different fields. I co-founded Whatnot Startup Studio and an agri-tech platform Gaorai (recently acquired by Aonic). Currently, I serve as an advisor for the KX Knowledge Exchange innovation centre and actively engage with the Thai startup ecosystem through networking, mentoring, and lecturing at various universities and incubation programs.
I am constantly seeking new opportunities to grow and challenge myself, and I am committed to using my talents to tell meaningful stories and make a positive impact as a creative professional.
